Outdoor terrace and exterior finishing

The film shows a clean paved terrace, a central lamp, wall lighting, planted accents and a defined outdoor seating zone. The location and size are left unspecified because the source clip does not establish them.

Read the space in detail.

A short walkthrough of a finished outdoor terrace with paving, feature lighting, seating and planted edges from the Blackstone project archive.

The film is a starting point. A new project still needs a site visit, confirmed drawings and material selection before we can advise on specification, cost or programme.

Contractor notes

What we would check on a similar brief.

Plan the surface before the finish

An outdoor terrace starts with levels, drainage routes and waterproofing details. Paving, artificial turf and seating edges should be coordinated around those decisions so rainwater does not collect against walls or thresholds.

Make lighting part of the architecture

The visible lamp and wall lights shape the space after dark. For a similar brief, we set out power points, switching, cable protection and access for maintenance before closing the wall and floor finishes.

Specify for outdoor wear

We review slip resistance, sun exposure, cleaning, furniture movement and plant irrigation before recommending a surface or soft landscape finish. A sample should be judged in daylight at the actual site.

Handover and upkeep

Outdoor fittings and finishes need a simple care plan. We can include scheduled checks for lighting, drainage, sealants and surface condition within an annual maintenance scope.

Send us the location, dimensions, photographs and intended use. We will establish what can be retained, what needs new work, and which finishes are appropriate to the site before preparing the proposal.
